It Takes a Village intends to provide a platform for Islamic-based activities and gatherings that foster community spirit and provide support for Muslims in Memphis.
Our Prophet (saw) encouraged archery for his ummah so we at ITaV have established our own archery range, free of charge, for anyone who wants to come practice their sunnah skills, alhamdulillah. Please contact us for more information, insha'Allah.
Did you know that the Prophet (saw) would allow youths to join up for jihad only if they passed a wrestling test? In another narration he (saw) asked: “Whom do you consider a wrestler among you?” The people replied: “The man whom the others cannot defeat in wrestling.” He said: “No, it is he who controls himself when he is angry.” We at ITaV recognize the widom in these narrations and have organized Muslim hour at a local Jiu Jitsu gym to help us on this journey, alhamdulillah.
The Prophet, (saw), preferred horses above all other animals. He (saw) is said to have said: “Goodness is tied to the forelocks of horses until the Day of Resurrection.” As such, we have organized horseback riding lessons with a local ranch and encourage you to join us, insha'Allah!
We at ITaV believe in teaching a man to fish... literally. Come join us by the water and let's remember Allah and catch some fish, insha'Allah.
Let's get together and remember Allah, insha'Allah! In order to build a community, you have to get people together so we at ITaV are committed to organizing unique and engaging activities that revolve around remembering Allah and delicious food because, let's be real, nothing brings people together like Allah and some good food! Keep a look out for our emails and join our WhatsApp groups to stay in the know.
For better or worse, we live in a society focuses on individualism and the nuclear family, alhamdulillah. However, we at ITaV prefer to follow Allah's teachings in Surah Al-Imran:103 when he inscribes upon us to "hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided..." And although we do face many obstacles as Muslims living here in Memphis, this city offers something unique not easily found around the world: a vast diversity of cultures. With this gift, we are more able to act upon the lessons in Surah Al-Hujurat:13 where He reminds us that He made us into nations and tribes so that we may know one another.
We implore you to take advantage of the many initiatives intended to provide support for the community with the hope that, together, we can "hold firmly to the rope of Allah" as we "get to know one another."
ITaV provide support and activities throughout Memphis and the surrounding areas, for homeschooling families. co-op that offers a variety of day activities throughout Memphis and the surrounding areas.
Experience the warmth and unity of our community. Join us for engaging activities, eventful gatherings, and a supportive environment. Together, we build a stronger, healthier community.
